What are National Occupational Standards?

National Occupational Standards (standards) provide a clear description of what you need to know and what you need to do to perform a job successfully.

Standards are benchmarks of performance or work-related statements of the skills, knowledge and understanding that an individual should use to carry out tasks effectively.

There are standards across many occupational areas and over 4 million people have made use of them to ensure they perform their job to the national standard.

There are very few standards that exist for the creative and cultural sectors however Creative & Cultural Skills are working to change this and now this is your chance to help write them.
