Music Business NOS

Creative & Cultural Skills is developing National Occupational Standards (NOS) for sectors of the music business in a phased approach.

Phase 1 is complete - this focussed on developing Standards for entry level roles within Record Labels. Thanks to those who took part in the survey and consultation meetings, the Music Business (Record Labels) NOS have been approved and are available for download here.

Phase 2 is now underway and will identify and develop NOS for other areas of the music business. In the first instance these will focus on Music Publishing, Royalty & Collection Societies and Digital Distribution.

In order to create credible NOS, we need to listen to industry’s advice and guidance. In addition to our working group consultation we are asking you as industry experts to tell us what to discard, what to keep, what to change and what to add…

The Survey

This online survey is the first stage in our consultation process.
